If your PC is used by other people, you may need to hide some of the files which you do not want to share with other people or dont want other people to acces your private files or folder. There are several ways to hide a file or a folder in Windows.

The first one is hiding it in a JPEG image file. First of all you should make a new folder and copy all the files you want to hide. Copy an image inside the folder too in which you want to hide as well. Now select all the files you want to hide and create a zip or rar file with the help of Winzip or WinRAR.

Now go to Start > Run and type cmd. It will open the Command Prompt Window. Now type cd \, then type: cd YourFolderName and hit Enter. Replace “YourFolderName” with the name of your folder. Now Type the following: copy /b myimage.JPG + archivedthing.rar myimage.jpg and when its completed it will show you “1 file(s) copied”.

Now your file has been locked. Just right click on it and click Open With and select WinRar or Winzip which ever you used to compress the file and then extract it.
