Use Mouse Strokes to Perform Different Actions in your Browser

We use keyboard hotkeys for a multitude of functions. By simply pressing a combination of keyboard of keys we can open or save documents, minimize all windows, or open/close certain applications. To make things even more convenient, developers started creating applications which transferred the shortcutting power from the keyboard to the mouse. One such application which I have personally used is Radian which lets us access various programs, file, and folders all by our mouse.

There are other applications as well which are extending the ways in which we move our mouse. The combinations of mouse movements and the order in which we use left or right mouse buttons can be fed into our computer as commands to execute certain actions. For instance an application can return to the previous page in the internet browser if a user is repeatedly moving the mouse pointer to the left with breaks in the middle.

There is certainly a tool which does exactly that: Mouse Strokes.

Mouse Strokes is not an independent desktop application; it is a browser extension from Chrome which works within browser tabs only. For most users transitioning the most used shortcuts from the keyboard to the mouse might be difficult at first, but Mouse Strokes will soon have users thanking it for the facility it provides.

After installing the extension, we can access its options in the EXTENSIONS page in Chrome and view which mouse commands can be recognized by Mouse Strokes.

In the extension’s options we can set new commands to accept and even change the existing ones.

Mouse Strokes will definitely be a convenience to most users although not everybody will enjoy it. Nonetheless, check out how this extension works and see if it suits your preferences.

Convert any webpage to PDF with Html2pdf

Earlier, we have covered different websites and tools which can help you convert different files to PDF format. Recently, I have found another tool which can help you convert web pages into PDF files within your browser without launching third party software. One such extension for Google Chrome is Html2PDF which enables you to generate PDF files with just a single click. The plugin sends the page to an external PDF converter service which will generate a PDF output for you.

All you have to do is install the Html2PDF extension and open a certain web page.

When the extension is installed, an icon will appear in your Google Chrome taskbar.

Now open any website which you want to convert to PDF and click on the button shown above.

After the conversion is done, it will open a new window automatically which will open the converted PDF file as shown.

Now, you can easily save the converted file to you pc.

Note: the current version doesn’t support PDF conversion of https resources.
