Text-to-speech offers a number of benefits. First of all it offers you to sit back and relax while your PC reads long documents for you and more importantly, it comes in handy for the people with low visions.

A lot of people had been using “Speak It“, a Firefox add on that reads your text for you but unfortunately its only compatible with Firefox 2. Today I came to know through Ghacks that a user has changed the compatibility of the add-on and it now works perfectly fine with Firefox 3.

It integrates itself in the right-click context menu and can be used to read out all of the text on a website or only the selected text. It not only allows you to change the read rate and volume but its also possible to change the text to speech engine if more than one engine is installed on the computer system

Microsoft has just released an updated version of Windows Live Essentials suite. Windows Live Essentials includes Windows Live Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Toolbar, and Writer, Silverlight and a Family Safety application. Just like Google Pack you can choose which ones you want to install, based on your needs and requirements.

To use Windows Live Essentials products you need the following

• Operating system: Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (32-bit edition only), or Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit editions). Note: Windows Live Movie Maker is not supported on Windows XP
• Processor: 1 GHz or higher for Windows Vista; 800 MHz or higher for Windows XP
• Memory: 128 MB of RAM (256 MB or more recommended) for Windows XP; 512 MB for Windows Vista
• Resolution: Minimum 1024 x 768
• Internet connection: Internet functionality requires dial-up or broadband Internet access (provided separately). Local or long-distance charges may apply.
• Browser: Windows Live Toolbar requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later
• Graphics or video card: Windows Live Movie Maker requires ATI Radeon 9500 (or higher) or nVidia GeForce FX 5900 (or higher).

There have been a few changes compared to the last month’s release.

Notepad++ v5.1.2 has been released and it’s now available for download.  Notepad++ is a free source code editor  which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment.

The new version includes the following changes

1. Fix localization (Japanese/Cyrillic/Hebrew…) display bug under Notepad++ Unicode version.
2. Fix Find in Files search in both Unicode/ANSI files.
3. Make Find in files thread-less to improve the performance and to avoid the crash.
4. Fix crash bug while loading File of User Defined Language.
5. Fix writing a key in registry while preference dialog launches
6. Fix crash in File Dialog if too many languages or extensions were added.
7. Fix memory leak when a file cannot be opened if it consumes too much memory.
8. Fix a vista issue : prevent Notepad++ save files to “virtual store” under vista.
9. Fusion 2 commands “activate main view” and “activate sub view” in “Focus the other view”.
10. Fix close all files/app exit cancel bug.
11. Fix default button problem in Find in Files dialog.
12. Fix caret position moving problem after loading a session.
13. Fix bug when pasting to bookmarked lines in Unicode version.

Google has released the latest version of its browser. Users who are already using Chrome wil automatically get updated over the next 48 hours. The new release address a security issue with Gears 0.5.4.0 and earlier version.For those who are new to Chrome
