Often we come across YouTube videos which have captions embedded in them for ease of understanding. Now you can do the same when uploading your own videos on YouTube. CaptionTube is a free online service which creates captions for your YouTube videos. Videos captioned with CaptionTube are more discoverable and searchable on YouTubeand you can add captions in multiple languages as well.
Add Captions to YouTube Videos
1. CaptionTube uses your existing Google Account for signing in and once logged in, you can begin adding captions to either your personal videos or to other videos.
2. In order to add captions to your video, first you have to grant CaptionTube access to your video which can be done by clicking the Allow Access button on YouTube video page.
3. You can also add captions to specific videos which were not uploaded by you. Just paste the URL of the video you want to add caption to and click Import.
4. Once the video is imported, click on the Edit button to add captions.
5. Creating captions is easy; once you allow CaptionTube access to the video, play the video and then click the Add Caption button which will enable the editing of the caption fields.
6. Just type in the captions you want at specific time intervals and when you’re done, click Save. The caption will now appear in the timeline and/or the list view depending on how and at what time you wish to display it.
7. Click on List button at top right corner to see the number of captions you have added to the videos.
8. You can also check the preview of the video in the Preview section. You will be able to check the captions during the video once you download the video and the captions file and play it using VLC or any other media player. 9. In addition to creating captions, CaptionTube also allows exporting them. You can download the created captions on your PC or you can e-mail the captions to any specific e-mail address. To download the edited video, click on Publish.
10. Select your desired Format Option and click Download Now to download the captions using any media player such as VLC Player etc.
