Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service which is becoming really popular. If you are using Twitter to promote your blog using Twitter, you might want to know how much clicks a link gets or how many people are following that link and visiting the site you shared on Twitter. There are many tools which can help you track shortened URL in Twitter.

One of the most popular is the URL shortening services used in Twitter,  bit.ly. If you use any Twitter desktop client like Tweetdeck or Seesmic, you will notice that when you share a link using any of these softwares it automatically shorten your url using bit.ly but you cannot get information about how many people followed the link you shared until and unless you go directly on their site and sign up for an account on there website.

The sign up procedure is really simple. Just open www.bit.ly and click on “Sign Up” in the top right corner.

After registration, when you will shorten any url, It will give u a tracking url as well which you can use to track the number of clicks on the specific links as shown below.

Click on the real time Track URL but make sure you are logged in to your account before you try to check the stats for any link.

And you are done.
