Unlock iPhone 3G 3.0 and iPhone 3GS with Ultrasnow 0.9
As we all know, Geohot released their software Purplesnow to unlock iPhone 3GS 3.0 and iPhone 3G 3.0 few days back which, according to them consumed less memory then Ultrasnow, an iPhone unlocking tool by the iPhone Dev team.
iPhone Dev team released the new version of Ultrasnow, Ultrasnow 0.9, They were provided with the source of Geohot’s Purplesnow and they believe it had two main aspects. The first is a way of patching the actual text of the baseband code by copying it over to RAM and the second new idea he had was to patch CommCenter rather than use a daemon.
According to the iPhone dev team, Ultrasn0w uses 152 bytes of properly malloc’d baseband RAM, which is 0.015% of what purplesn0w uses. They reworked on Ultrasnow and came up with Ultrasnow 0.9 based on Geohot’s Purplesnow and also thanked Geohot for helping them improving Ultrasnow.
UltraSnow 0.9 Features include :
- Works on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS
