Use iPhone As a Document Digitizer

iPhone has been my favorite mobile device since it was launched. Apple has released tons of applications to make it even more functional for you. Today I’ve learned about a new add-on that allows you to use your iPhone as a document digitizer. You can use JotNot to process your images of whiteboards, receipts, and notes, making them easier to read, print, and share with others.

Key features include

  • Processes images on the phone
  • Automatically adjusts image contrast and color balance
  • Corrects perspective keystoning
  • Saves just the region you want
  • Processes existing photos or takes new ones

To get started all you have to do is

1. Take a picture or select one from your photo library.
2. Drag the corners of the blue rectangle aligning them with the corners of your document; the blue area will be saved.
3. Click “Process” to enhance the image.
4. You will be shown a preview of the enhanced image. Click “Save” if you are happy with the resulting enhanced image. Click the trash can to delete the enhanced image.
5. The original image will be added to your photo library. If you clicked “Save”, an enhanced version will also be saved to your photo library.
