Text Editor for Linux

Geany is an excellent text editor that uses the GTK2 toolkit with basic features of an integrated development environment. Other than Linux, you can also run it on FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, MacOS X, AIX v5.3, Solaris Express and Windows.

Geany supports filetypes including C, Java, PHP, HTML, Python, Perl, Pascal and more. It provides a small and fast IDE, which has only a few dependencies from other packages.
