A unique font can help your document stand out and attract attention. If you’re looking for those professional high quality fonts that you can download for free and which works for both Mac and Windows then you can try the following websites that I believe can find any font you’re looking for . On the top of my head I have
1. Abstractfonts
Abstractfonts is definitely one of the biggest websites out there that offers free fonts for it’s visitors. It has a good record of 1 million unique downloads every month. Currently they are offering over 11,000 free fonts. Each of the fonts has a customizable string preview, character map, member comments, similar fonts as well as a font info tab with all kinds of helpful information about the font. Personally I’d recommend this website to all you folks out there.
2. daFont
DaFont is one of my personal favorite websites that not only gives you a huge number of fonts to download but for those you don’t know how to activate these fonts, they can get help from the website. The fonts presented on this website are their authors’ property, and are either freeware, shareware, demo versions or public domain. The licence mentioned above the download button is just an indication. Please look at the readme-files in the zips or check the indicated author’s website for details, and contact him/her if in doubt.
3. WhatTheFont
WhattheFont is a very cool website that allows you to upload a file on the font you’re looking for. Once done it will find you the closest match they have in their database. By any chance if WhatTheFont can’t figure it out, you can submit your image to the WhatTheFont Forum where cloak-draped font enthusiasts around the world will help you out!

1001fonts.com is a free service that offers you to download free fonts for both Windows and Mac. They make it easy for visitors to choose the best font for them by providing 10 Top Rated Fonts as well as 10 Most Popular Fonts

hey, all these fonts works on linux, why only “both windows and mac” we are a lot of users!
http://www.identifont.com is an AMAZING resource for when you’re looking for a specific font, but don’t know what it’s called. It asks you a series of questions about specific letters, and narrows down a list of possibles, with links to download/purchase your results. Excellent resource.
