Openoffice.org is a free open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages.

Latest Changes in the OpenOffice.org 3.0 RC1 are :

  • Sheet names can contain almost any character
  • Support for Office 2007 documents
  • Multiple users can edit spreadsheets simultaneously
  • Multi-page view for Writer
  • Language selection through Windows language bar extended to Western languages

There are many other new features which you check in the release notes. OpenOffice.org 3.0 RC 1 supports Linux, Solaris, Windows, and OS X operating systems.
