Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, open source, cross-platform e-mail and news client developed by the Mozilla. Thunderbird aims to be a simple e-mail, newsgroup and news feed client with features like message management, junk filtering, extensions, themes and much more.

The awards winning Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 email client has been released by mozilla with some new features and some security issues that were in the previous version have been fixed in this version which are :

• Remote code execution by overflowing CSS reference counter
• Crash and remote code execution in block reflow
• Peer-trusted certs can use alt names to spoof
• Faulty .properties file results in uninitialized memory being used
• Buffer length checks in MIME processing
• Arbitrary code execution in mozIJSSubScriptLoader.loadSubScript()
• Chrome script loading from fastload file
• Crashes with evidence of memory corruption
