Windows Xp Sales Stopped after 1 July, 2008
From July 1 2008, Microsoft Corporation decided to stop selling Windows XP to retailers and other computer shops. From now on, computers will be forced to operate on Windows Vista rather then XP but the thing that everyone is thinking is that why Microsoft is doing this. Its the best operating system yet and everyone know that Vista cant match Windows XP in any way.
The people who are already using Xp, it will not be a problem for them but for new users it will be and even the people who dont want Vista will have to buy vista or they can get mac or Ubuntu but they cannot compete against windows at the moment as not many people can work with ubuntu or mac. So what will the people do now. Although there is a petition on InfoWorld who are trying to save the best OS. It is also announced that Windows 7 will be released some where in 2009 and Microsoft will provide technical support for Windows XP till 2014, after that i think old users will also have to say Good Bye to Windows XP
.
“Additionally, systems builders may continue to purchase Windows XP through authorised distributors until January 31, 2009,” he said, repeating existing policy that lets small-sized computer builders obtain XP from other dealers.” said Bill Veghte, the senior vice president who leads the company’s online and Windows Business groups.
